Hilton Greenville

Physical Description: The interior space designed during this multiphase project was approximately 4,800 square feet of restaurant space, 5,400 square feet pre-function and ballroom, meeting spaces and 7,300 square feet hotel main lobby and board room.

The first phase of this project was ‘Villedge Restaurant and Bar’ located in the main lobby of the Hilton Greenville. As the designers, we worked with the owner to develop the overall theme of the restaurant. This included the selection of flooring, wall covering, ceramic/stone wall tile, lighting, and several focal features. The following phase was the West Wing remodel, which included the pre-function area and the ballroom. Assisting the owner, we designed the West Wing to stand-alone as its own unique entity while remaining cohesive with the other areas of the hotel not being renovated.  Currently, we are working to develop a new design for the Hilton Greenville Main Lobby. The goal of this design is to strategically plan a better interior space to freely welcome guests to the hotel. This includes integrating the reception counter, gift shop, guest computer center, lounge and main lobby restrooms in keeping with Hilton corporate standards.

As the designer, we initiated the project with space planning and designing architectural elements as necessary, as well as noting the owner’s vision for the overall atmosphere of the spaces. Value engineering was a key factor in the success of this project. We selected products and finishes that where not only aesthetically pleasing, but preformed to the highest wear standards for their given uses and were very budget conscious. A specification guideline was created for each phase of the project. As the designer, we were made available for as many on-site visits as deemed necessary by the Owner and Sub-Contractors.

These multiple projects were highly budget based. The owner’s main objective was to remain in budget and to maintain the quality craftsmanship of a high design hotel. As lead designer, we were able to assist the owner with selections that achieved both goals. The initial project (Villedge) was so successful; we were commissioned by the owner to design the second (West Wing) and third (Main Lobby) phases of the Hilton Greenville renovations.
